Synthesis of Best Practices for Developing Public Information to Advance Priced Managed Lanes

Effective strategies are used by agencies to generate stakeholder and public support for priced managed lane facilities.

Priced-managed lanes offer many benefits to transportation agencies and the communities they serve. However, as a relatively new approach to highway facilities, the concept of priced-managed lanes is unfamiliar to many decision-makers and drivers. TTI developed a synthesis of effective strategies for using public information to support the implementation and use of priced-managed lanes. The report provides a literature review summary and five case study examples of successfully deployed projects from across the United States.
